Lake Powell

We went to Lake Powell this week with my parents and brother, Ben and his family. We had such a good time. We decided we will never again go to Lake Powell in the summer. Going in the fall is the best time. The weather is perfect, the water temp is still warm, the beaches aren't crowded, and the water is glass. We water skied, wake boarded, cliff dived, swam, fished, had camp fires, went for boat rides, and had so much fun!
We stopped at McDonald's for lunch. Kaelynn and Mom being funny with  the happy meal.
Here is sunrise one morning. The lake is calling to us!
We dug holes in the sand and the kids made mud baths.
Coleman was the best baby. He loved playing in the sand. He didn't really get near the water too much.
Kaelynn caught a fish all by herself. All during the night and in the early morning you can see and hear the fish jump. One early morning Kaelynn saw a fish jump and asked Ben where the poles were he told her to get one out of the back of the truck. She got her own pole and went over to her own spot. We kind of forgot about her until about 15 minutes later we heard her yell "I CAUGHT A FISH!!" It was a baby so we let it go. But she was the only to one to catch a fish. Her grandpa couldn't believe it. He tried a few times, but didn't have the luck.
Here is Caleb and Grandpa trying to have the same luck as Kaelynn.
 Tyler and Austen fishing.
Ben LOVES to water ski. The conditions couldn't have been better. Look at that glass. The night before he declared he was going to water ski onto the beach, kick off the ski and walk away. We all laughed and said "No Way! Only 'The Fonz' in his leather jacket is that good" Well we were all silenced when he actually did it! I got it on video, but I was in the boat so I didn't get any pictures of the famous event.

 Playing in the mud
All the kids on the tube. Everyday we took all the kids out to a little cave in a rock that was just across the bay. They loved going over there and jumping in the water. Kaelynn was the bravest and cliff jumped from about 10 feet up.

Looks like it was so much fun! I'm sad we weren't able to be there. Thanks for posting pictures so I could live vicariously through you!
