Merry Christmas

I haven't been able to post for awhile because our computer crashed. We had such a wonderful Christmas season. We went to wonderful family parties, church parties, Kaelynn's program, went to Temple Square and watched fun movies. I will try to post some pictures of Christmas day soon. Happy New Year!!

Santa Claus came to the Excell Family Christmas Party.

Thanksgiving 2010

We had Thanksgiving with the Excell Family this year. It was a really fun weekend. We had way too much food. I heard the average Thanksgiving dinner contains 4000 calories! YUM! We also went to the movies, shopping, Temple lights, Turkey shoot, playing in the snow, and we played a game that rhymes with "Mexas told em'. We loved every minute.

The whole family at the Temple lights
Caleb eating olives
Kaelynn's school Thanksgiving Feast
Dashing through the snow in a 50 horse power open sleigh!
Caleb pulling the pigeons.
Ben has the strangest stance. I wonder if that's why he hasn't won the past two years. He is the only one that shoots a shot gun more then once a year.
I am just no good at shot guns. I only hit 2 out of 5 of my pigeons.
HO HO HO! No crying kids for Santa? It's a Christmas miracle.
The Manger scene at the Temple. That glowing orb is the baby Jesus.
Caleb was fixed on the lights
Thanks to all our family for a wonderful time! Love you guys and can't wait to get together again.

Kaelynn is 7!

Today is Kaelynn's 7th birthday. Last night we took her and Tyler to Build-A-Bear and out to dinner to Pizza Pie Cafe. Yummy! Today she got to take a poster, her favorite toy, and her favorite short story to school. She is such a sweet girl. We are so happy to have such a beautiful daughter in our home. Here is a poem that I would like to dedicate to Kaelynn:

There was a little girl
Who had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead
When she is good,
She is very good
But when she is bad
She is horrid!

Kaelynn and Tyler with their bears.
Kaelynn's birthday presants.
4 years old at the Scarecrow festival.
2 years old with "that look" on her face.
3 years old in front of Grandma's house.
Almost 2 year old with stitches (personally I think Caleb looks like Kaelynn)
1 day old. It's hard to believe this was 7 years ago. Where does the time go?

Tyler Needs Glasses

Last week when I took Tyler to his 5 year well check he failed his eye exam so we scheduled an appointment with the eye doctor. When I took him in yesterday he was diagnosed with amblyopia. (Ya, I didn't know what that was either. It's kind of like a lazy eye, but his eyes follow each other.) So now Tyler has to wear glasses with a patch over one eye (Arrr matey). The good thing is he only has to wear the patch 2-4 hours a day. So when we go places he just needs his glasses. The stressful part was the Dr. office quoted me $300 for the glasses. I almost died! Ben and I went down to Costco and they didn't really have any frames we liked but they were half the price of the Dr. office. Then we went to Wal-Mart and found glasses for $60!! So that is the story of Tyler needing glasses. We should get the glasses next week so stand by for pictures.

Today - Tyler birthday!

5 Years Old!!! Today we are having a Dinosaur lunch party with his friends. I will post more on his party later. Tyler is a wonderful boy. We love you, Tyler.

Saturday - Caleb's B-day and Trick-or-Treat

Caleb is 2! He had a great party. Ben's sister, Amanda, and her family came up for a party. We went trick-or-treating and then had a cake walk, fishing pond, and a fun dinner. Here I am with the Witches Brew!Trick-or-Treat! and Happy Birthday!

Friday - Thanksgiving Point Garden

Because I didn't have enough going on this week I took the kids to the Gardens. OK so this week has been crazy, but the Gardens closed on the 30th and I wanted to go one last time. I was so glad I did. It was relaxing and we were the only people there. The weather was great and the kids loved running around and playing with the leaves.

Friday - Halloween Parade and Class Party

I helped in Kaelynn's class for the party. They had a fun time.
Playing Hot Pumpkin
Kaelynn and Haven making spiders.
I didn't get a good picture of Kaelynn in the parade, but it was fun to see all the kids in their costumes.

Wednesday - Ward Party and Pumpkin Carving

I didn't get a picture of the finished pumpkins because Kaelynn took some pictures of them on her camera. The ward party was also fun.

Tuesday - Tyler's Party

Tyler and his preschool teachers. I thought his teachers were really cute!

Monday - Dinosaur Museum

The Dino Museum had dress up family night. The kids loved seeing all the dinos wearing costumes.

Excell Girls Weekend in Vegas

I just got back from Las Vegas with my mom, Tana, and Sarah. We had a great time. My mom wanted to start a new tradition and go on a girls only weekend once a year. I started my trip by getting up at 5am on Friday to catch my flight. I got in Las Vegas at about 9am. I didn't have to wait very long before everyone else got there. We started out by going down the strip. It wasn't very crowded and the weather was good. We went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch and had the Red Velvet cheesecake for dessert. I thought I had died and gone to Heaven. After eating we decided to rest and then go shopping. That night we swam and talked until 1 am! Things got kind of strange at 1 am, but you know what they say "What happens in Vegas...." The next day Tana and I got pedicures. We shopped some more and then back to the airport for me. I had such a great time with some of my favorite people.

Pedicures!

The Strip - Sarah was worried that she would be the only one in L.V. with a stroller, but we did see 4 others.

On our way down town. The shuttle was great because we didn't have to drive and worry about parking.
