Coleman's 1st Birthday Party

Coleman's birthday was really fun. We had his party in Cedar City. Grandma and Grandpa, Ben's Dad and his sister all came. We played relay races, had cake and just relaxed. It was a perfect evening.

Happy Birthday Coleman!!

Happy 1 year birthday to Coleman. Coleman is such a happy baby. We love him so much and are so glad he is a part of our family. I took him the Dr yesterday and he is doing well. He weighs 20.8lbs. We will still keep him in his rear facing car seat until it he doesn't like it any more. We went to the park today for a picnic lunch. We are having a party for him on Saturday with family. Here are some fun things about Coleman:
~Coleman's middle name is my maiden name. I thought a lot people did this with their sons, but the more I talk to people it's less common then I thought.
~Coleman is a walker. He now walks everywhere he can. Once he falls down he has to crawl somewhere to get help to stand back up. I think in the next month he will be able to stand from sitting position.
~He hasn't been the greatest sleeper ever, but we are working on it.
~Loves to smile and laugh!!
~Eats everything in sight, including rocks and dirt.
~Drinks out of a sippy cup. The Dr told me yesterday that you don't need to buy whole milk for babies. They can drink whatever milk the rest of the family drinks.
~Has six teeth (4 on top and 2 on bottom)

Goodbye house

Yesterday we pulled the plug on our home building process. It was a very hard thing to do. We tried almost everything that we could think of to make it work. I guess some things just aren't meant to be. Try as we might, it just wasn't the best thing for us at this time. Maybe someday we will know why and maybe we won't, but we have faith that everything happens for a reason.

Fun in the Sun!

Lately I've had to exercise a lot of faith. We have been trying to build a house and ran into problem after problem. I have been so frustrated with it. Last weekend we went to St. George to go to the temple. It was great as always. It was 12 years ago that Ben and I came out of those doors as newly weds. (That picture of us is horrible by the way.) I felt some peace by going to the temple. I just know that whatever is meant to be will find a way.
We took the kids the visitor center and watched a sort movie/presentation on family. It was only 11 minutes and well worth the time.

Another fun moment we had was Bryan's birthday party. He had a cowboy party. This kids were so cute

Here I am sporting a Red Rider BBgun

 Homemade ice cream! YUM
 Pour me another, Bar keep!
 Yes, we did have mustaches!

Coleman's First Steps

Coleman turns 1 on Aug 16th. I didn't know if he was going to learn to walk by his first birthday since he crawls so good and he really didn't seem to want to try. Well, with in the past 2 or so days he really has been  taking off. The other kids liked to walked back and forth between Ben and I, but Coleman likes to just take off on his own. I think now that he realizes he can walk it won't be long before we are chasing him around like the other kids.

Anniversary weekend

I really wish I took more pictures this of a fun weekend we had. We went down to Cedar City on Friday and Saturday to go boating. We went to Sand Hallow and had a blast! Everyone loves the lake. I even tried water skiing and made it about 20 yards before I crashed. (It only took 4 attempts). This is huge for me. I have tried water skiing about a million times and it has ended badly each time. After a really fun day at the lake Ben took me out to The Garden House Restaurant in Cedar then to Dairy Queen for ice cream. Our actual anniversary was on Sunday. We headed up to Payson after church. Caleb had a Dr. appointment on Monday. Monday Amanda watched Tyler and Kaelynn and we went to Salt Lake to check out the new City Creek. It was a really fun place. Caleb's Dr. Appointment went really well they said his had was healing very nicely and we don't need to go back until sometime in the fall. They just told us when we are up next to call and schedule an appointment. We left after the appointment to head for home.

Today is Pioneer Day. The kids were all in the parade. It was a really cute parade with so much candy. We have had Thunderstorms on and off all day today.

12 years!!

Panguitch in July

Last Friday we got a hail storm. I took the kids to the library for story time. We could hear the hail in the library, but it was over by the time we left. When I got home this is what my front porch looked like. My flowers and tomato plant were ripped to shreds! I hope they come out of it.
